Ablytx is developing a new class of bispecific antibodies designed to remove disease-driving membrane proteins by harnessing the cell’s own surface proteases.

Rather than relying on proteasomal or lysosomal degradation, SHEDTACs bring target membrane proteins into proximity with naturally occurring cell-surface sheddases — enabling rapid, targeted proteolysis directly at the cell surface.

A New Way to Target the Cell Surface

SHEDTACs harness endogenous cell-surface proteases to catalyze targeted membrane protein proteolysis — without relying on proteasomal or lysosomal degradation.

The result is a direct, programmable approach to removing membrane proteins that may be difficult to address through traditional protein-degradation pathways.
